A few weeks back, it was First Grade's turn to host the hospitality event for the teachers.
We chose to do a brunch...it's VERY early, but it is also over pretty quickly and you still have the rest of the day!
The year long theme is Our Teacher's Rock!
As you can see, we took the literal approach to the theme!
(The pictures were taken very quickly...we were still setting up when the teachers began to arrive!)
Each of the teachers was given a hand painted rock to take back to the classroom.
A big bag of these river rocks was purchased for less than $15 at Home Depot.
The mom that made them just used paint pens. They turned out great!!
Each classroom was asked to bring food items...baked goods, egg casseroles, bacon/sausage, juice, fruit, etc. Everyone really came through!!!
We had a variety of egg dishes. Some with meat and some without. We also served Swiss Oatmeal. You can barely see it to the right. I had never heard of it before, but apparently this is something that is served every year to the delight of the teachers. It's not too glamorous but apparently it is delicious! I have the recipe and will post it soon.
We kept the decor very organic...rocks & daisies.
Our color palette was yellow, white, gray and black.
Food labels were also a nice touch!
Not everything has to be homemade...donuts and bagels are always a treat!
There was plenty of fresh fruit for everyone!
This French Toast Casserole was also a big hit. Will add the recipe soon!
Our bagel area had a variety of bagels & cream cheeses. We also made sure to include a toaster!!
Our simple banner was made with doilies and ribbon!
Cute!
One mom generously donated a gift card to raffle to the teachers.
This was a great touch!
We're so lucky to have such wonderful teachers!
Smiles!
I see your talented touches at every turn. Wonderful event for the teachers. I'm excited to see the recipes. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
