We all Scream for ICE CREAM!

I had the pleasure of making the birthday treats for a sweet girl's birthday party.
She wanted a sparkly blue cake with a "melted" ice cream cone on top.  She also requested ice cream cone cake pops for her friends.

I think she liked them, don't you?

Happy Birthday!!!

Baby B's Birthday Cake

My precious little niece turned 1 yesterday!!!
Her mom asked me to make her smash cake and I was happy to oblige!
The cake was a banana cake with Swiss meringue butter cream...yummmm!!

Since I was unable to be at her party, I sent her a little note on the cake!

I mean look at her?!?!  What's not to LOVE??!??!

(This was just another pic I put together...couldn't decide on which one to use!!!)

Happy Birthday my sweet Bea!!!
Aunt Jame Jame loves you!!!

Another Birthday Cake

If you follow me, you know I almost always only work with French Buttercream or Swiss Merengue Buttercream as you just can't beat the flavor and ultimate texture experience along with the cake.  With that being said, I adore the look of fondant but just can't get past the taste and texture...yuk.
Well, my friend wanted chevron on her cake and I cringed.  They are gorgeous in fondant because they can be perfect which is exactly what you're looking for with fondant.  Not so much with buttercream.

I set up her expectations and told her I'd give it a try.
The colors are pretty...
bead work is ok....
but I wasn't very happy with the "chevron."  Actually, I wasn't even going to share the cake on the blog.  Then I decided, hey, I don't want everyone to think I'm perfect (insert sarcasm here!)
My advice if you're going to decorate cakes?  Always make sure it tastes AMAZING!  It will make up for a decorating blunder!  I'm always confident in the taste of the cake and of the frosting even if I get a little insecure with the decorating part.

My friend said she liked it, but I think she was just being sweet...because, well, she's sweet!

Happy Birthday Sweet Avery!

Glam Cake

I had the privilege of making a birthday cake and the cake pop party favors for the sweetest girl.
She was having a Hollywood movie party so we went for the "glam" side of Hollywood.

Don't the ribbons on the cake pops look great with the cake?

Her colors were red, black & white.

Close up of the back of the cake.  This is one of my favorite photos of the design.

Party favor cake pops.

Happy Birthday sweet Sophia!!
You are a beautiful girl, inside and out!
(Just like your momma!)

Polka Dot Birthday Cake

I'm a little behind getting this posted...par for the course as of late!
The birthday girl wanted a polka dot cake for her DJ party (what a fun party idea, right?)
To finish it off, mom topped this fun cake with an assortment of brightly colored pink & aqua daisies.
Happy belated Birthday, Lakin!

Little Monogrammed Cakes

These little 4" cakes were made for a teenager's birthday party/going away party.  She (and her sweet mom) hosted 3 of her friends at a hotel slumber party...doesn't that sound fun?!?

These little cakes were 6 layers of butter cake.  (3 layers split and filled with a raspberry glaze and french buttercream filling.)  They were frosted and decorated with a combination of French Buttercream and Swiss Meringue Buttercream.  "M," "M," "R," & "C" each received their own special treat.

We're sure going to miss this sweet family!!!

Smiles!!!

I may share these cakes at some of the parties found in my side bar =>

Purple & Yellow Cake

Again, I was honored to be asked to make a birthday cake for a new teenager!
Her favorite colors are purple and yellow.  Though I am no LSU fan, I was happy to oblige her request.

The cake is made from Red Velvet cake.  Each tier is comprised of two layers cut horizontally in half and then filled with Cream Cheese Frosting.  Yummy!

Happy Birthday, Miss A!

Pretty Pink Birthday Cake

I made this birthday cake for my sweet friend's little girl. She was having her party at one of the princess-type dress-up places. I think my friend used some long sparkler type candles on top.
The birthday girl's initial.

This was a yellow butter cake with the traditional french butter cream icing. It tasted as good as it looked!!
