Flasks for Friends

Spoiler Alert!
If you are one of my friends that happens to live out of town...skip this post!
(That includes you...Plano resident!)
Thank you!
Now...look what they're getting for Christmas...
FLASKS!
My friend and I saw some super cute decorated flasks when we were out shopping a few weeks ago and decided we would like to try to make our own.
Said friend gets online within hours and buys flasks and finds a tutorial.
She explains how its done and she got to work.
Now, it's been 4 weeks or more and I just got started on mine.

Zebra with beaded heart...

Lime leopard with rhinestones and brown eyelash fringe...

Happy Flask....

Star Wars Flask with Darth Vader & rhinestones and...

Large beaded heart flask.

My friend bought the flasks online and we split the cost...want to say they were about $6 each.  These little flasks are only 4 oz.  Somewhere online (not sure where as I never saw the tutorial, but I'm sure you can Google it,) my friend read that you should varnish the paper BEFORE putting it on the flask.  I varnished both sides then added varnish to the flask and attached the paper.  All that's left is to decorate them!  Large rhinestones and beaded flower centers found at the craft store top the lids (I used super glue and E6000.)  The beads are attached using gem & glitter glue...I drew the design then added the beads as if they were glitter.  Tacky Glue was used to attach the ribbon and fringe.
Oh, and by the way, neither my friends nor myself are a bunch of lushes (well, ok, one of them is, but she's wonderful just the same!!!)
I doubt the flasks will ever be used.  They were just cute and something different.
Which is YOUR favorite?
Smiles!

May share these fun gifts at some of the fun parties found in my sidebar =>

Tell Me a Story

This morning, the boys found Clark reading the Christmas story to his little toy friends!

Aggie bear must have hopped up on the chair so he could hear better...Buzz tends to talk too much!
Love that our sweet little elf is reminding his friend (and us) the real reason for the season!

Smiles!

May share our elf sharing the Christmas story with some of the parties in the sidebar =>

Clark & Cubby build with Shrek

The other morning, we woke up to find that Clark (our elf) had had some fun with Shrek and another visitor, Cubby (visiting for a month from our Cub Scout Pack.)
Looks like they were working on some sort of tower....
He must have been tired from all of the work, because the next night, he just hung out with one of the Stafforshire-like dogs.
What other antics are in store for our little guy?
Stop back by and see for yourself!
Smiles!

May possible share this little adventure with a party or two in the sidebar=>

Hot Cocoa for Clark

Meet Clark our fun little elf!  (He's affectionately named after one of my favorite Christmas characters, Clark Griswold!)

It looks like he decided to make himself a little cup of cocoa.
Is that a marshmallow in his mouth?!?

Wonder what our little friend will be up to tonight?!

Smiles!

Girlie Girl Birthday Cookies

I was tickled pink to make these cookies as the party favors for a sweet little girl's birthday party.  With two boys, it's not all that often that I get to play around with pinks and purples!

"M" is her initial and can you guess how old she is now?!?

Mom gave me free reign to be creative....these are the most fun for me to make!!!

I think the 6 on the far left is my favorite...
which one is yours?

Smiles!

With probably link these party favors to a party or two in my side bar =>

Advent Book Basket - Repost

This is always such a hit in our home, that I wanted to be sure to mention it to y'all again this year....

This is a great idea I picked up several years ago.

Start with 25 Christmas/Winter themed Books.  (You'll be surprised how many you actually have!!!)
(Half Price Books is a great place to pick up some inexpensive Christmas books to fill in your collection.)

Let your child (or children) open one a day until Christmas!
We've accumulated so many that each of my boys can open a book each day!
They enjoy seeing favorite books from years past and discovering new ones I've added to the collection.

When Christmas is over, I use the left over gift wrapping scraps to wrap the books for the following Christmas. ***(It is SO nice to have at least ONE thing ready to go!!)***

I also keep my daily advent activity book in the basket...that's just so I can easily find it among the rest of the chaos going on!
My sincerest wishes to each of you for a joyful and blessed Christmas season.

Smiles!!!
