Bunny Cookies

Here is one of a herd of bunny cookies I made for a client.
She was hosting an Easter brunch for children in foster care.  I was thrilled to be a part of her sweet event, even if it was just providing the cookies.

I'm a Little Tea Pot

A sweet friend was hosting a kitchen bridal shower and asked me to do the cake and some cookies.  I was more than happy to oblige!

The cake is a Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cake with Amaretto French Buttercream filling.  It was all frosted in French Buttercream except for the teapot.  Oh that teapot.

If you've followed me very long, you know I just can't stand fondant.  It just has such a weird texture in the mouth and tastes, well, in a word, yukky.  With that being said, I think they fondant cakes are gorgeous, but I try to limit it to decorative purposes only....and only when I just can't figure out another alternative.  Well, this was one of those instances.
Wanting it to be the best it could be, I went searching on the internet and found Michael Forster's Fondant Recipe.  I had all of the ingredients on hand and it came together nicely.
The shape of the pot comes from a pound cake baked in my trusty ball cake pan.  It was filled and crumb coated with french buttercream.  Then I covered it with the fondant, added the spout, handle and top then decorated it with royal icing.  Done!

So happy it stayed together through the night.  My biggest fear was that I'd wake up to a spout-less pot and a messed up cake.  It looked great!

The cookies are my standard sugar cookie recipe with the couple's initials.

Best wishes to the happy couple!!

Monogram Cookies

I was looking through the blog and realized I hadn't posted these beautiful monogram cookies I made a few months ago for a bridal shower.  The colors of pink and navy are so fresh!

The hostesses tied them up and displayed them around the cake.
When I find the picture she sent me, I'll upload it, too!

Thanks to Michelle for being such a great customer!!

Snowflake Cookies

Here are the snowflake cookies I made for a friend that is including them in hospitality baskets for friends and family coming to celebrate her daughter's Bat Mitzvah.

I used my favorite Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookie recipe and a classic Royal Icing.  A little sprinkling of sanding sugar finished them off.
It was such fun decorating these little beauties!
So many designs!

Package and ready to go!

A Few More Cookies

So last week I had the Mason Jar Cookie order (CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM,) and I had a little extra cookie dough.  Not being a waster, I cut a few out in an apple shape and decorated them for me new team.  It was LATE and I didn't have the energy to color more icing so I just used what I had.
The aqua and red color combination is always cute in my opinion.
What do you think?
Have a great week!

Having a Ball Cookies

A friend asked me to make these little Mason jar cookies for an 80th Birthday party she was hired to plan.  She gave me a picture of some adorable cookies she found on the internet as well as a cookie cutter.  After a little searching, I found the site HERE.   Krista gives lots of great hints and tips for icing your own cookies.  She's a real pro!
I love the way these cute cookies turned out!
Can't wait to hear how the party went!
