Indiana Jones - The Party

It's time to share our Indiana Jones Birthday Party...

Come on in!!

Get your hats and blow dart guns...

Dart guns are PVC pipe wrapped in tan duct tape.  This size shoots Nerf suction cup darts beautifully!

I always have a sign in sheet at drop off birthday parties....its an easy go to in case any of the archaeologists get a piranha bite or upset stomach after eating monkey brains!!!

Here's the set up...see the banners?  They say "Happy," "Birthday," "Haden."

As the archaeologists came in to the backyard, they began blow dart practice.

The Pankot Palace Buffet waiting for diners!

The Sands of Egypt with a table to decipher clues.

The Temple of Doom...crossing the stones to get to the treasure box containing clues was tricky!

The Snake Pit Challenge
An obstacle course set up with a hanging hula hoop, a balance beam over Piranha Pass, nets to cross under, tunnels to cross through and snakes to manuever past in order to escape!

Lots and lots of SNAKES!!!

Piranha Pass had live PIRANHAS!!!!!
(Ok, they were minnows....but still the hit of the party!!!)

Going through Snake Pit Challenge...crossing Piranha Pass...

Climbing to the top of the challenge....

After they completed the Snake Pit Challenge, they received their personalized satchels which included a clue.  They worked together to put the clue together to start their adventure.

They were sent to the Sands of Egypt were they dug through the sand to find more clues.
What is that??!?!  A skeleton?!?!  Very cool!!!

Getting ready to cross the stones...picking the wrong stone will cause the earth to collapse underneath...
(Ok, fine.  The earth won't really collapse, but the eggs under the wrong block will crack...they wanted to step on the wrong stones just to feel the eggs crack!  How did they know what were the right stones?!?!  They had to spell INDIANA!)

Finally!  Safely across the stones!  The treasure chest held chinese handcuffs, gold coins and clues.  Thank goodness they had plenty of room in their stachels for their goodies!

Here is one of the clues.
Would you like to see them all?
Piranha Pass was the next stop.
River Rocks held down clues...it was scary with all of the piranhas and snakes!
(The clues were kept dry in ziploc baggies.)

Pankot Palace Banquet was next...eewwww...GROSS!
The Banquet included Eyeball Soup (frozen green grapes and plain yogurt,) Monkey brains (red jello,) and Sanke Guts (Spaghetti, food coloring and more plain yogurt.)
They really had to dig around in this to find all of the clues!

After a toast to the birthday boy, they all cooled off with a glass of Pankot Punch.
(Pankot Punch Recipe - Blue Hawaiian Punch with green ice cubes made from Kool Aid frozen in small plastic cups...this way the ice lasts longer and also gives the punch a cool "glowy" look!)
Uh-oh!!!  They punch was spiked with a mysterious serum that causes boys to turn into girls and girls to turn into boys.  YIKES!!  Where is that antidote?!?

After popping black balloons, they found the antidote (wax bottles) with the next clue wrapped around them.

They wasted no time drinking the antidote!

The clue led them back to the front where the treasure chest pinata was waiting,..
they filled their stachels with the loot!

They finished the party with cake and ice cream.

A great adventure was had by all!
Happy birthday my precious boy!

"Snakes - Why did it have to be snakes?!"
I think this looks like the most fun that a boy could have a party! I am sure that this is a memory he will treasure for a long time.
I found you blog on Marvelously Messy. I am a new follower and would love a "follow back" if you have a chance.

I am completely in awe of you. Our girl scout service unit is doing a "Raiders of the Lost Camp" theme in June for 250 to 300 elementary school girls, and I am totally using some of your wonderful ideas. Of course, we have to do everything on the cheap, but I may be able to duplicate a few things, like your obstacle course. If you have any leftover materials that you would care to donate, let me know! Where did you get your skull????

I must tell you that you made my son's Indy party a much better event with all your printables and suggestions. We had an absolute blast, and your generous sharing ideas made it possible. We owe it to you, and I look forward to following your blog. I love your initial comments in your header.

HELLO! I hope you are still answering questions on here.
How did you get the font on "Indiana Jones needs your help" to fill in with brown? I can't seem to get that to work. I get black or the shadow one with various shadow colors if I choose so, but that's it.
Also, where did you get that awesome bamboo dart gun sign? Or did you make it?
Thanks so much!
